Support Mandating Electronic Conspicuity for Safer and More Accessible Drone Operations in Canada
We, the undersigned, call upon Transport Canada to implement a nationwide requirement for electronic conspicuity (EC) systems on all low-flying crewed aircraft that share airspace below 500 feet AGL with drones.
This simple and cost-effective step will:
- Unlock safe and scalable Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone operations
- Enhance the safety of all low-altitude aviation, including VLOS RPAS flights
- Boost Canadian leadership in RPAS modernization and economic innovation
- Enable critical services like pipeline monitoring, medical delivery, search and rescue, agriculture, and more
DAA systems are expensive and limited. Electronic conspicuity is the practical solution.
Safer skies. Smarter policy. Stronger economy.
