About the Role

InDro Robotics, is growing. We are on the lookout for a uniquely talented System Engineer who loves to develop new technologies for flying robots to get in on the fun.

As a member of the InDro Robotics team, you’ll join us on our mission to develop the next generation of innovative unmanned aerial vehicles and robotics systems in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary, startup environment with a direct impact on our product roadmap

The ideal candidate is a jack of all trades with a diverse portfolio of built work spanning multiple industries and demonstrates a thorough understanding of complex software systems for hardware products. Most importantly, you must have a positive “can do” attitude, play well with others, embrace a challenge, and realize that every failure is a critical step toward creating innovative products

Responsibilities

• Lead software engineering efforts for entire products or subsystems, from concept through production. Manage the product lifecycle and identify continuous improvement opportunities.

• Design, develop, and test software modules covering diverse drone applications such as connectivity with LTE and 5G, improved navigation algorithms, collision avoidance, safety monitoring, etc.

• Conduct technology and process research to develop products that achieve lofty performance requirements

• Perform simulation, testing, and analysis to ensure products that live up to InDro Robotics name

• Multi-task across a range of projects in varying stages of development while meeting schedules and hitting milestones.

• Provide cross-functional support to internal and external teams

• Mentor and teach whenever possible

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience designing, building, and deploying industrial drone or autonomous robotic solutions

• Flight control development experience (PX4, Ardupilot, or other) with emphasis on flight controller architecture, control loops, state estimation, state logic, trajectory generation, safety

• Experience developing for Embedded Linux using GCC toolchain, gcc, make, gdb, openocd

• Strong understanding of microcontroller architecture and programming

• ARM Cortex M3/M4/M7 experience

• Emphasis on real-time high bandwidth control system theory, design, and implementation

• Serial digital communication knowledge (UART, I2C, CAN, SPI)

• Hands-on experience with measurement and test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc)

• Experience with git or other version control systems

• Excellent communication skills, verbally and written

• Passion for learning, iterating, and first principles

• Must possess great ‘feel’. We need to move fast and good hunches save time

InDro Robotics is looking for a suitable candidate with programming and systems engineering experience in the vicinity of Ottawa. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in applied science (such as electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechatronics) or alternatively a certificate from an accredited technical college and 3 to 5 years minimum industry or academic experience in the following: 

• RF engineering, and knowledge of spectrum allocation in Canada,

• Digital signal processing,

• Experience with Linux deployed on single board computers, ideally Nvidia systems,

• Signals and systems experience,

• Cellular integration and cloud network architecture,

• Software-defined radio,

• Databases (SQL)

• Technical report writing.

Additional traits sought: 

• Edge processing with embedded systems,

• Use of remotely piloted aircraft systems and advanced flight certificate from Transport Canada,

• Restricted Operators Certificate for Aviation Radio,

• Hands-on experience with design and fabrication of electronics,

• Firmware deployment on flight controllers or use of SDKs for remotely piloted aircraft systems.

• GUI Design,

• IOT implementation and MQTT,

• Cloud architecture,

• Programming in multiple languages,

About the Role

We are looking for the world’s best 1:1 marketer, lead generator and robotics enthusiast to join our growing team! In this mission-critical role, you will use your top-notch creative thinking and problem solving skills to uncover, attract, and acquire new potential clients and customers for our newly developed Drone Delivery services.

Using your stellar skills for uncovering leads in social media, popular media and trends, you will find the names, companies and contacts for strong prospects, and then through direct contact and 1:1 marketing, turn those contacts into prospective clients. This front-line role is paramount in the success of our company and no two days will be the same!

Responsibilities

• Build brand awareness and create demand for InDro Robotics
• Manage opportunity pipeline from identification through closure
• Analyze customer requirements and applications and recommend appropriate product solutions
• Qualify sales lead by establishing good customer contact via telephone, email, personal contact, on-site visits, trade shows, etc.
• Make timely visits to customers/prospects for equipment demonstrations and sales 
• Plan, coordinate and conduct trade show exhibits, seminars, webinars, and customer training and support (responsibilities may include assistance at trade shows and/or seminars)
• Assist in the development of sales tools including competitive materials, presentations, and other sales resources and assist in the acquisition of sales material
